1. As per Article 63 there shall be a Vice-President of India.
2. Qualifications:
3. A person contesting for the office of the Vice-President shall have the following qualifications:
a. He shall be a citizen of India.
b. He shall have completed 35 years age.
c. He shall be qualified for election as a member of Rajya Sabha.
d. He shall not hold any office of profit.
4. Vice-President is elected by both the elected and nominated members of the Parliament through the proportional representation by means of single transferable vote.
5. The term of office is five years.
6. The Vice-President may be removed through impeachment resolution by the Parliament.
