Banda Bahadur

Banda Bahadur was born in 1670 A.D.

His original name was Lachhman Dass.

Guru Gobind Singh met him in 1708 and made him his own slave.

Guru ordered him to attack on the emenies of Khalsa.

Banda got a decisive victory at shadura.

He conquered Sirhind in 1710 and appointed Baj Singh as the Governor of Sirhind.

He abolished zamindari system.

The Sikhs captured Amritsar, Kasur, Batala, Pathankot and Kalanaur.

The Mughal ruler Bahadur Shah wanted to take action against sikhs and ordered all the muslim Faujdars and Nizams to join hands against sikhs.

Army was sent under Amin Khan against Banda.

After bitter fighting Banda escaped and retired to the hills.

Banda was executed in June 1716.
