Vijayanagara Empire-Dynasties

Vijayanagara Empire was ruled by four dynaties. They are:

a) Sangama Dynasty

b) Saluva Dynasty

c) Tulva Dynasty

d) Aravidu Dynasty

Sangama Dynasty:-

The period of Sangama dynasty was from 1336 to 1485 A.D. Hari Hara I was the first ruler of this dynasty. Devaraya II who also known as Prauda Devaraya was greatest among all the rulers of Sangama Dynasty. Virupaksha II was the last ruler of the Sangama dynasty.

Saluva Dynasty:-

Saluva dynasty ruled Vijayanagara Empire from 1486 to 1505 A.D. Saluva Narasimha was the founder of this dynasty. He ruled upto 1490. Later Immadi Narasimha ascended the throne in 1491 and ruled upto 1505.

Tuluva Dynasty:-

Tuluva dynasty ruled Vijayanagara Empire from 1505 to 1570 A.D. Tuluva Narasanayaka was the founder of Tuluva dynasty. Sri Krishna Devaraya who ascended the throne in 1509 A.D was greatest among all the rulers of Vijayanagara Empire. Sadasivaraya was the last ruler of Tuluva Dynsty. During the period of Tuluva dynasty Tallikota Balltle took place resulting the downfall of Vijayanagara Empire.

Aravidu Dynasty:-

Aravidu dynasty was the last dynasty that ruled from Penugonda from 1570 to 1646 A.D. Tirumalaraya was the first ruler of this dynasty. Sriranga III was the last ruler.
