Due to the deterioration of law and order in the country and communal conflicts congress accepted the partition of country into India and Pakistan.
Pakistan got independence on August 14, 1947.
India got independence on August 15, 1947.
To draw the dividing line between India and Pakistan a Boundary commission was appointed under the prsidentship of Radcliff.
The line drawn by the commission is called Radcliff line.
Mount batten Plan for partition of India was made during the period of Lord Mountbatten.
India was divided according to Mount Batten Plan of 3rd June 1947.
