Simon Commission
Simon Commission was appointed to report the working of the existing government and to what extent the responsible government is extendable.
It was a six members commission under the chairmanhip of John Simon.
Simon Commission stepped in Bombay on February 3, 1928.
The Commission did not consist a single Indian Member.
Hence, the Congress decided to boycott the Simon Commission.
Where ever the Commission toured it was greeted by the slogan "Simon Go Back".
Lala Lajapathi Roy who led the movement in Lahore was severely injured by the lathi charge and died later.
The Simon Commission submitted its report in 1930.
Simon Commission came to India during the period of Lord Irwin.
