Lord Hardinge

Lord hardinge (1910-16):

King George V visited India in 1911.

A Durbar was held in Delhi on 12th December 1911.

It was announced that the capital of India would be transferred from Calcutta to Delhi.

The Partition of Bengal was cancelled.

On 23rd December 1912 a bomb was thrown on Lord Hardinge. He was wounded. Inspite of tis he had sympathy towards the Indians.

The first World War started in 1914. India joined the war on the side of the British.

The Viceroy Lord Hardinge scrapped partition of Bengal.
